For Schools
We work with school systems all over Texas to provide speech and language services for students who have difficulty accessing or affording high quality therapy.

We provide flexible, remote therapy that works within the schedule and needs of parents, students, and school districts. While most speech therapy practices target individual families, we specialize in providing services to schools. As such, our practice model generates a lot of great questions. Here are some of the questions we often receive from teachers and administrators.
-
What makes Apex Teletherapy different? As a small therapist-owned company, we understand the importance of having high-quality therapies in school. We work with each school closely to meet their needs in a more personal way. Because we are smaller we are able to communicate with schools, teachers and parents efficiently.
-
What is TeletherapyTeletherapy is the delivery of speech therapy through an online, video conferencing platform. Similar to a video chat, a therapist and student engage with activities to assist in individual or group therapies remotely. This is a highly effective way of solving staffing shortages throughout the country. Apex Teletherapy recruits high-quality therapists, ensuring that they are certified, licensed and trained to work with your students.
-
Why Teletherapy? In a world that thrives on technology the use of teletherapy as a means of providing evidence based services to students in need is a natural evolution. The use of virtual services is a viable means of addressing the shortage in therapists across the country.
-
How is teletherapy different from in-person therapy?Students love meeting with their therapists online. We are able to use engaging activities online to meet the specific needs of each student. Because we are remote we are able to reach underserved schools.
-
Can you administer assessments?Absolutely! There are many online assessments that have been approved for remote usage.
-
What are the requirements for teletherapy for SLPs?All our therapists are licensed in Texas, their home state, and are ASHA certified.
-
Can your therapists be case managers?Yes! There is little difference between a teletherapist’s duties and an in-person therapist’s duties. Our therapists are experienced with all aspects of school based therapy services and are able to provide the same consistency and knowledge based case management services that a student would receive in-person.
-
How do online therapists communicate with teachers and parents?Communication with parents and teachers is of the utmost importance to Apex Teletherapy and our therapists. While following strict guidelines set forth in the student’s IEP the therapist may communicate by phone, email, and/or video conference. Additionally, therapists will send out progress reports based on the district’s agreed upon timeline. At Apex we want our students, teachers, parents, and all district staff to have an ongoing open line of communication with our therapists therefore it is encouraged that parents and staff reach out to us or their therapist at any time.
-
What are the technical requirements for teletherapy? All you need is an internet connection and a laptop or computer with a webcam and audio capabilities. Student privacy is very important to us. All connections are secure and HIPPA compliant.
